Columbus, Schmidt's Oktoberfest nominated in USA TODAY 10Best polls
Roll out the barrel — of votes, that is.
Columbus has made the list of nominees in two categories of the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice poll.
The city is in the running for Best Place to Visit for Fall, with the poll citing such autumnal attractions as pumpkin patches and apple orchards, the changing leaves at Schiller Park and the Oktoberfest celebration presented by Schmidt's.
And speaking of Schmidt's Columbus Oktoberfest, the annual event is up for Best Oktoberfest, along with two others in Ohio, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati and Cleveland Oktoberfest.

As of 2 p.m. Friday, Schmidt's Columbus Oktoberfest was in seventh place on the leaderboard listing 20 Oktoberfests across the country from Vermont to Wyoming.
Over the next three weeks, readers can cast one vote per day until ballots close at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 9. The top 10 winners, ranked by USA Today 10Best readers, will be announced Sept. 18.
