Colton Haynes' mother passed away, and his posts about her death will break your heart
Colton Haynes’ mother has passed away due to liver complications, the AHS: Cult and Arrow actor shared the devastating news on Instagram Friday night. “Today I lost my best friend, the love of my life…my momma. Words can’t express how incredible this woman was. I have so many things to say but I’m in a state of shock. I will always love you, momma. RIP my angel,” he wrote in a post, and our hearts go out to him and his family.
At the end of February, Colton took to social media to share the grave details of his mother’s health condition. He revealed that she was suffering from advanced cirrhosis of the liver and kidney failure, causing her to spend most of her time in hospital treatment. He explained how she was in dire need of a liver transplant, but unfortunately did not have enough time left to wait for one. The actor and his siblings set up a donation fund in their mother’s honor to help gather the cost of a 24/7 live-in nurse.
“The doctors suggested that we now focus on my mother’s quality of life rather than quantity of life. It’s heartbreaking. My strong mother has always been the anchor of this family and our best friend. Now we’re being forced to say goodbye to her,” he shared.
The family’s GoFundMe goal was reached once Colton’s brother paid off the costs and vowed to donate every penny raised over the goal to the American Liver Foundation to help other families experiencing the same devastation.
