Cinco de Mayo: Liven up your fiesta at Westchester, Rockland, Putnam restaurants
It's Cinco de Mayo ? or at least it will be ? and with spring in the air (a real spring with ? finally ? warm weather), it's also time to celebrate Mexican culture with all things tequila and tacos.
May 5 commemorates the anniversary of Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, but for many local restaurants (and their customers), it's an excuse to "cinco de drinko." A sampling of options follows. Just remember to drink responsibly.
