If you're like me, you probably tend to break out during the holidays—just in time for the influx of family photos and reuniting with loved ones you don't always get to see throughout the rest of the year. From eating more sugar, feeling much more stressed and anxious and usually getting less sleep, it can feel impossible to put your best face forward, so to speak.
Christian Siriano understands the struggle. "Whether it's a holiday or not, we're all busy, we're all working, we're all frazzled, we're all focusing on other people," he tells Parade, explaining it's still important to focus on you. "Take care of your skin and yourself and all the things that you love—whether that is skincare or beauty or makeup or whatever it is. It's nice around the holidays to take a little time to yourself."
But what does that look like in a practical sense? After all, it seems like the holidays are filled with gatherings—both big and small—galore.
Well, it might not feel convenient, but setting aside the time for self-care won't happen magically. Siriano says it has to be prioritized—even if it's just an extra ten minutes to do your regimen.
"I'm pretty simple, my beauty regimen's simple," he shares. "[But] I do a lot of my things at night before I go to bed. It's kind of my decompression of the day—I love that."
So, whether you prefer to feel pampered in the PM like Siriano or you'd rather wake up early to get a head start on feeling your best, the important thing is that you're giving yourself that time. And if you're looking for a new product to try out, look no further than his just-launched collaboration with Olay.
Including cute pink slides, a cozy robe and even an exclusive makeup bag, his self-care bundles have something for everyone.
"This idea of a holiday drop was something we wanted to be really special and unique," Siriano tells Parade. "Hopefully [this] helps people in the process of their holiday shopping—whether it's for yourself or for a guest."
Besides the comfy-cozy collection, Siriano has another product he swears by during the winter months: Olay's Super Serum.
"I'm very into this serum," he raves to Parade. "It's fab [and] so beautiful in general—even if you have oily skin, it really works."
Not only does skincare help with normal aging and combatting stress-fueled holiday breakouts, it also helps heal weather and temperature-related concerns.
"When it's cold, my skin gets red, so I've noticed if you're using a serum, it really actually does help," Siriano explains.
