Chrissy Teigen Just Gave "The Rachel" Haircut a 2020 Upgrade
There are very few haircuts that have the staying power like "The Rachel." Jennifer Aniston first debuted the shaggy style on the set of Friends in 1995, and twenty-five years later, the look is still as relevant as ever. Need proof? Look no further than Chrissy Teigen.
On Saturday, the model took to Instagram with a shoulder-skimming crop that gave the classic cut a modern upgrade. "New hair who this, it's me obviously I don't get it," Chrissy captioned a video of herself showing off her new 'do, emphasizing the appearance of her choppy layers and flipped-out ends. She finished her look off with honey-blonde highlights and long side bangs.
Fans couldn't help but notice Chrissy's resemblance to Aniston's '90s sitcom character. "Did you get The Rachel?" questioned one user in the comments section of her post, while another wrote: "This cut and color reminds me of a Rachel style from Friends in all the best ways." Teigen hasn't officially revealed whether or not Rachel Green was the inspiration behind the chop, but she did credit celebrity stylist Tracey Cunningham for the 2020 take on the style.
Despite "The Rachel" haircut's icon status, Aniston has never liked the look. "I was not a fan of 'The Rachel,'" she told Glamour back in 2015. Before that, she revealed to Allure that "The Rachel" was "the ugliest haircut I've ever seen."
Sorry, Jen, but half of Hollywood would politely disagree.
