Chrissy Teigen Was Craving Cake So She Shared a Photo of Her “Giant” Wedding Cake
Model, mom and social media savant Chrissy Teigen revealed yet another moment from her 2013 wedding to John Legend via Instagram on Wednesday, April 11. The latest detail involved the couple’s cake, and the cookbook author had a valid reason for sharing the confection out of the blue.
“Someone tagged me in a photo of my wedding cake,” Teigen, 32, wrote. “And my fatass wants cake so bad now so here is a pic of my wedding cake. It was carrot with cream cheese frosting and it was awesome. I miss you, giant cake.”
The sweet treat, comprised of four tiers, was slightly ahead of the naked cake trend that took over the internet in recent years. Teigen’s pastry chef and design team fittingly decorated the mouthwatering cake with eucalyptus leaves and fresh flowers. The flavor profile was slightly different from what she had originally wanted. Teigen told People a few months before the wedding: “I’m not a big sweets person, which is why I’m really specific about the cake, which is going to be a really multi-layer cake. It’s layers and layers of crêpe and pastry creme in between with raspberry sauce.”

Legend and Teigen married on September 14, 2013, before 125 friends and family members in Lake Como, Italy. Her dream team was comprised of event designer Mindy Rice, planner Lisa Vorce, and photographer Aaron Delesie.
“Make sure to get a planner that is versed in a destination wedding, because obviously, there are so many language barriers,” she told The Knot exclusively in 2017. “It’s really tough to get vendors, and you can get so many more discounts if you know somebody within the area who’s able to get those discounts for you.”
She elaborated: “If someone is coming in to a new city, there’s no way that they’re going to have that kind of relationship that’s able to get you the discounts on the florals and the tables. I think when you know somebody, you’ll end up saving a lot, a lot of money.”

The supermodel also recommended going local with the ingredients list entirely. “Use the wine from that area, use the alcohol from that area,” she added to us. “Recommend hotels that are small, quaint and cute—and that speak to that area. We gave a ton of options, but all of our options were definitely little places that spoke to Lake Como. They looked like Lake Como. They had a beautiful view [and] they were quiet. Even if they were tiny and had their little quirks about them—like some of the showers weren’t working or the water was cold—It’s Europe and it makes them feel special.”
