Chris Stapleton Forced to Push Back Upcoming Shows: 'Doctor's Orders'

Chris Stapleton's All-American Roadshow tour has been put on pause as the singer abides by "doctor's orders" and works to recover from not one but two infections.
On Wednesday, the "Tennessee Whiskey" singer announced that he had come down with bronchitis and laryngitis, and at the suggestion of his team of medical professionals, he would be postponing three upcoming concert dates, affecting fans in two states.
"To all my friends in Corpus Christi, Houston and Lafayette, I am very sorry to let you all know that I am unable to perform this weekend’s shows," he said in a statement shared via Instagram. "I have bronchitis and laryngitis, and on doctor’s orders am on vocal rest through the weekend in order to heal."
"I’m grateful for your patience and understanding, and hope to see you all in November," the 45-year-old added.
All tickets purchased for the original October dates will be honored for the rescheduled dates, which, according to the star, have been pushed back to mid-November.
The Lafayette, Louisiana show has been moved to Nov. 16. His previously scheduled Houston tour date will follow directly after on Nov. 17. Fans who planned to see the Kentucky-born crooner in Corpus Christi will still be able to do so, but not until Nov. 18.
The singer-songwriter also noted in the caption of his Oct. 11 post that those who cannot attend the rescheduled shows should "contact your point of purchase within the next seven days."
Stapleton isn't scheduled to perform again until next Thursday, Oct. 19, in San Antonio, followed by two weekend performances in Austin before moving on to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then Dallas.
His fifth studio album, Higher, is set to release a few weeks later, on Nov. 10.
