Chris Jericho Ranks Ex-WWE Stars’ Acting Ability, and The Rock Isn’t First
WWE wrestlers are entertainers in their own right, performing for audiences as they slam their opponents onto the ground for cheering crowds. It shouldn't come as a surprise, then, that some WWE stars go on to become actors after they retire from the ring. Most notable among these is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who for years has been the highest-paid actor in Hollywood.
Former WWE wrestler Chris Jericho shared his thoughts about these crossover stars in an appearance on Truth or Dab: Rapid Fire. He was given the task of ranking four "wrestling thespians" in order of their acting ability: Dwayne Johnson, Dave Bautista, Hulk Hogan, and John Cena. Surprisingly, his top spot didn't go to The Rock.
"I would say the best actor of all of them is Bautista," he said. "I think his work and his diversity from what I've seen, I think he's the best actual actor." In recent years, Bautista has appeared in Marvel blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, as well as box office hits like Dune and its upcoming sequel.
Jericho's second-place spot went to The Rock, who himself starred in the superhero smash Black Adam and whose repertoire spans everything from children's movies to the Fast & Furious franchise.
John Cena came in third place and Hulk Hogan came in last, but Jericho made sure to give Hogan an honorable mention for one piece of his past work. "Santa With Muscles, chef's kiss," he said.
