Chris Hemsworth Says 'Not a Single Piece of Cake' Survived His 40th Birthday
Chris Hemsworth wants to have his cake and eat it too—literally.
The Marvel star celebrated his 40th birthday on Aug. 11. To commemorate his milestone, he shared photos on Instagram of himself posing in his kitchen with two decadent chocolate cakes and a pink cupcake. He was ready to attack the desserts, making a fist while holding a fork in his left hand and wielding a large knife in his other hand.
In one of the photos, he closed his eyes in delight as he savored the cupcake. In another photo, he took a bite of one of the cakes.
The Australian actor captioned the celebratory photos, "Thank you for all the birthday wishes! Another lap around sun and still goin strong! I can safely say not a single piece of cake made it through the night ?? ?? ??."
Hemsworth received plenty of congratulatory messages from his famous friends.
"Happy Birthday my brother !!!! ??????????," shared fellow Avenger Jeremy Renner.
"Happy birthday legend!!!! ??," wished Channing Tatum.
"Happy birthday bro," commented Jason Momoa.
"Happy birthday Chris," commented Fargo star Salvatore Esposito.
Hemsworth also gave fans a peek at the stunning handmade card his daughter India Rose gave him. The 11-year-old showed her artistic talents, drawing a parent dragon embracing its child. She drew an arrow pointing at the parental figure, labeling it as "DAD," while the younger creature represented herself.
Inside the card, she wrote a heartfelt message, which reads, "HAPPY 40th DAD. I Love you more than enything [sic] and I Love you Times ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞ ∞." She also drew a pink and red heart at the bottom.
The Thor star captioned it, "Maybe my favourite birthday card yet ????????."
