Chris Harrison Gets Really Real About Barb’s ‘Bachelor’ Finale Drama: ‘She Just Tore the Poor Girl Apart’
Chris Harrison is finally opening up about that shocking Bachelor finale, and yes, he felt just as “sick” as we did.
In a recent interview with Sirius XM, the Bachelor Nation host, 48, discussed season 24 of the popular dating series and admitted that he wasn’t expecting the After the Final Rose special to end the way it did. (You know, when Peter Weber’s mom, Barb, confronted Madison Prewett on national television.)
When Harrison asked for Barb’s opinion that night, he had no idea she had such strong thoughts about Weber’s relationship with Prewett. “And I went to Barb thinking, ‘This will be sweet,’” he said. “Maybe Barb will just say, ‘Look, we don’t love this, but it’s my son so we’re just going to give this a shot.’”
As we all know, that’s not what happened…but it was too late to turn back. “Holy cow. She brought out a water cannon and just beat Madison on live TV,” the host added. “My jaw dropped. I did not see that coming. She just tore the poor girl apart, and I didn’t know what to do.”
Harrison admitted it was “good TV” but that he felt guilty for putting Prewett in an awkward position. “I actually felt sick to my stomach,” he continued. “I felt really bad that this poor girl was getting taken apart like that on live TV because what is she supposed to do? And what’s Peter supposed to do?”
Sounds like Harrison is definitively *not* Team Barb.
