Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Market to Host Church on Sundays
Sadly, Chip and Jo won't be the preachers, but Waco's First Couple is opening up the lawn beside Magnolia Market at the Silos to Church Under the Bridge.
As the Waco Tribune-Herald reported, the Gaineses offered their space up for Sunday worshipping after learning that the Interstate 35 widening project that starts this March would force the local Waco church to move. Chip Gaines, who is a fan of the church's pastor, Jimmy Dorrell, invited Dorrell and his congregation to the Silos after learning about the I-35 upgrades and realizing he could help the displaced congregation. Currently, the church holds its 11:00am Sunday service under I-35 and 4th street, with fold-up chairs by the Interstate.
"I was sitting in my office one day, day-dreaming, thinking about making a commitment, and we reached out to Jimmy. He came over to the Silos, and we agreed it would make a great fit geographically. We said, ‘Let’s do it,’ and shook hands on it," Gaines told the Waco Tribune-Herald in another article.

The chuch is expected to host Sunday services at the Silos lawn for a year, with no fee for the organization or its worshippers. Compared to the church's previous venue — complete with traffic noise and pigeon droppings — Magnolia Market's grounds should prove an idyllic setting for all who attend services.
