Chick-fil-A Still Won't Open On Sunday—Even At Its Super Bowl Stadium Location
Chick-fil-A is famously closed on Sundays, and most people have gotten used to waiting out their chicken sandwich cravings until Monday morning. The founder of Chick-fil-A, Truett Cathy, made the decision to close all Chick-fil-A locations on Sundays way back in 1946, as he wanted a day for his staff to rest. The eatery has opened on Sundays on occasion, but that's usually for an emergency like the Dallas tornadoes in 2015, or for a special occasion like treating a young fan.
And while you might think that the Super Bowl is a good enough reason to open on a Sunday, Chick-fil-A has confirmed to Sports Illustrated that they will not be open on Super Bowl Sunday, even in their section 123 location in the Atlanta Mercedes-Benz stadium where the Super Bowl is being held this year. The decision is even more surprising when you realize that Chick-fil-A's headquarters are also in Atlanta.
However, all hope is not lost for Super Bowl attendees. As Yahoo Sports reports, on Super Bowl Sunday, Chick-fil-A will turn into a "Fries Up" location, just as it has done during the regular football season. Fries Up serves loaded fries, including options like parmesan fries, buffalo fries, and bacon cheddar fries.
