Unfortunately, there might be bacteria brewing in your antibacterial cleaning products: Clorox, which produces an array of cleaning formulas, including Pine-Sol, is recalling 37 million products due to potential contamination.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that the following products are part of this recall:
Pine-Sol Scented Multi-Surface Cleaners (sold in Lavender Clean, Sparkling Wave, and Lemon Fresh scents)
CloroxPro Pine-Sol All Purpose Cleaners (sold in Lavender Clean, Sparkling Wave, Lemon Fresh, and Orange Energy scents)
Clorox Professional Pine-Sol Lemon Fresh Cleaners

Company representatives noted that these cleaners might contain the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which can cause infections in those with weaker immune systems.
The products, which were produced between January 2021 and September 2022, have been sold on Amazon.com and other online retailers. They were also sold in stores, including Walmart, Sam's Club, Dollar General, Target, Home Depot, BJ's, Kroger, Dollar Tree, Lowe's, and Publix, with retail prices between $2.50 and $12.50.
As for how to spot one of these recalled solutions? Contaminated products will likely have "A4" and a five-digit number less than 22249 on the label.
For safety, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notes that consumers should stop using potentially contaminated products immediately. And if you do spot one of these formulas in your home, take photos of its 12-digit UPC code and date code; then, throw away the product (in the original container) with your household trash and contact Pine-Sol for a refund. You can use this form or call 1-855-378-4982 for reimbursement requests.
"We are conducting this recall to safeguard your health and wellbeing," Pine-Sol wrote in a statement. The company noted that Original Pine-Sol (with the pine scent) is not part of this recall; you can continue to use it if you have it in your cleaning kit.
