Magic is a word makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury says a lot. Before she launched her beauty brand, she spent years mixing her own “magic cream” back stage at fashion shows and photo shoots to transform her clients’ tired skin. The hyaluronic acid and peptide formula, now called Charlotte’s Magic Cream ($100, sephora.com), has reached cult status worldwide. (Her brand was the official beauty brand for the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.)

And when Tilbury wants a magical recharge, she heads to Ibiza with her husband, George, and two sons, Flynn and Valentine. “It’s where I spend time with them, relax, and dance late into the night—it’s my magic beautifying fuel.”
The first time she wore makeup? “Completely magical! I was 13, at boarding school, and I put on mascara. Everyone at every age reacted to me differently. I felt mesmerizing and so confident.” (Related: The Absolute Best Mascaras On the Market for Every Lash Look)

Creating that magic—the transformative power that makeup has on your persona—is what Tilbury is all about. Her products aim to bring outer and inner beauty to life. A few, in particular, keep Tilbury pretty happy: “Lipstick! I wear my Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk ($34, sephora.com) for everything from a meeting to a date because it brightens my complexion and my mood. This shade is the perfect nude-pink that suits all. It is happiness in a tube.” And concealer: “It turns a badskin day into a perfect skin day,” she says. “It’s a universal truth: When you have a flawless complexion, there’s nothing you can’t conquer.”
