Charlize Theron Will Star As Megyn Kelly in New Movie About *This* Famous Scandal

Charlize Theron’s new role is a far stretch from Tully.

Annapurna Pictures just announced that Theron will portray Megyn Kelly, former Fox News anchor and star of The Kelly File, in an upcoming movie about the Roger Ailes scandal. The untitled film will focus on the women who worked for Ailes when he served as CEO of Fox News Channel from 1996 until his resignation in 2016. Dun dun dun.

The movie will shed light on the workplace harassment and lawsuits (cough, Gretchen Carlson, cough) that occurred during his tenure and, um, is that an Oscar we smell?

Jay Roach (Meet the Fockers) is signed on to direct the film, and Charles Randolph (The Big Short) is penning the script.

Make us proud, Charlize.
