Charlie Rose Might Host Show About Men and #MeToo
In November 2017, CBS fired journalist and television host Charlie Rose after The Washington Post published a report of multiple women accusing him of sexual harassment. But now it seems, Rose is getting back into TV with...wait for it...a show where he interviews other men implicated by #MeToo!
Page Six reports that Rose will reportedly star in a new show and interview other high-profile men who have been "toppled by #MeToo scandals," such as Louis C.K. or Matt Lauer. Editor and advocate Tina Brown told the publication that she was approached to produce the series starring Rose. She, unsurprisingly, passed on the offer.
Brown first mentioned the show during a Q&A at the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s Women’s Luncheon (where she said, "These guys are already planning their comebacks!"), but then later confirmed the story to Page Six at the Time 100 Gala. However, she did not remember who was behind the series. While a few guests at the Q&A thought Brown said it might be a Netflix show, a source told Page Six it was not a Netflix project.
The day after allegations came out against Rose, PBS also cut ties with the host. Eight women were originally cited in the Post report, but multiple women have since come forward to share similar stories of harassment. Maybe they should get a show instead? Just spitballing!
