Celebrities Are Really Loving Robin Roberts’ Touching Instagram With Partner Amber Laign

Robin Roberts and her partner, Amber Laign, are celebrating another incredible year of loving each other.

In honor of their 16th anniversary, the Good Morning America coanchor dedicated a heartfelt Instagram post to her longtime girlfriend, which featured a never-before-seen video of them.

“Today marks 16 years I’ve been blessed to have this amazing, loving light in my life….sweet Amber,” she wrote. “We embrace each other’s perfect imperfections…like my singing. Certainly did save the best for last. #Sweet16.”

After seeing the clip of Robin and Amber enjoying a moment together (with a surprise appearance by Maria Shriver in the background), fans showered the couple with congratulatory messages. “So beautiful. Happy anniversary and blessings for many more years of love and friendship ????,” one person wrote. “Two beautiful souls! Happy anniversary! Sending love and hugs! ????,” another added. “Congratulations! You are great together! ??????,” a different fan said.

What’s more, Robin’s celebrity friends joined in on the celebration. “????????????” wrote TV personality Niecy Nash. “??????,” added Deborah Roberts, an ABC News correspondent. Deborah's husband, Today’s weather anchor Al Roker, remarked, "Love you both!! Rocking’ Robin and Sweet Amber." Meanwhile, fellow ABC News reporter Gio Benitez said,“Happy anniversary! ??”

The 60-year-old broadcast journalist and the 46-year-old licensed massage therapist first met in 2005 and later went public in 2013. The story goes that the two were set up on a blind date by mutual friends, which they both tried to cancel twice. But Robin and Amber eventually met up for dinner and Amber’s “grace” instantly grabbed Robin's attention. According to the ABC star, her outlook on life has been greatly impacted by her partner’s thoughtfulness.

“You have the kindest heart and most beautiful soul than anyone I know,” Robin wrote last year for their 15th anniversary. “You have shown me time and time again to stay humble and to always treat others with the utmost respect as you never know what one might be going through ??.”

Even after all this time, the two continue growing closer. When the coronavirus pandemic brought the U.S. to a standstill last year, the pair discovered a new level to their relationship.

"We're going on 16 years now," Robin told People in April. "We spent more time together this past year than in the previous 15 years combined. We've never been stronger."

We love to hear it!
