Lots of people aspire to become friends with celebrities, but most celebrities only dream of striking up a friendship with royalty. Here are just some of the celebrities who count the royal family as friends.
Rihanna
Rihanna and Prince Harry met during his tour of the Caribbean in 2016. They bonded during their photo op, took HIV tests live on camera with each other, and even attended a concert, because friendship.
The Obamas
The Obamas have a great relationship with the royals. They've met with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry on multiple occasions and they always look like the best of friends.
Taylor Swift
There's no word on whether or not Taylor keeps in touch with the royals, but she did famously sing "Livin' on a Prayer" with Bon Jovi and Prince William during a Kensington Palace charity event in 2013
"If he ever wants me to sing with him again I'll be there," Swift said of singing with the royal. "It was a night I will remember till I'm very, very old. The whole evening was completely wondrous."
Eddie Redmayne
Prince William and the Oscar-winner attended Eton College together and played on the same rugby team. In early 2015, Redmayne said they hadn't kept in touch. "He was a pal at school, but I haven’t seen him since school."
Later that year, however, the pair reunited at the Audi Polo Challenge in Cambridge and it was glorious.
The Beckhams
The Beckhams are close with the royal family. They scored a highly-coveted invitation to Will and Kate's wedding in 2011 and have met with the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
"It's a very normal relationship," David Beckham said of his friendship with the princes. "They're very easy to get along with. They love their sport."
Cara Delevingne, Margot Robbie, and Suki Waterhouse
Cara and Prince Harry go way back and the model has introduced the royal to other celebrities, like actresses Margot Robbie and Suki Waterhouse. The group were all snapped in a photo booth together in 2016. In addition to taking adorable party pictures together, Cara, Margot, and Harry regularly exchange texts.
Elton John
Elton John was famously close with Princess Diana before her untimely death in 1997 and performed "Candle in the Wind" for her at her funeral.
Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding is good friends with several members of the royal family and even performed at William and Kate's wedding in 2011.
James Blunt
The singer and Prince Harry have been friends for a long time. They served in the British Army together. Blunt performed at the 2016 Invictus Games after Harry invited him via text.
Joss Stone
The singer has been good friends with Princes Harry (and William) for years now.
