Catherine Zeta-Jones, 50, Says *This* Is The Best Skin Advice
Catherine Zeta-Jones is 50 and yet somehow she doesn't seem to have changed a bit since her breakout role as Elena in The Mask of Zorro back in 1998. Yes, it's been 22 years since her debut in Zorro. After that sinks in, you're next thought will probably be how does she look so good?
It's likely that some of it (okay, probably a lot of it) has to do with good genes, but the actress also credits Elizabeth Arden of which she's been a model and spokesperson of for years. Her product of choice is their Eight Hour Cream (more on that later). But back to the genes point—Catherine also credits her mom for teaching her to always look put together. In a 2017 interview with W Magazine, she said, "Since I was a child she told me 'Always look your best because you never know when you could meet the President of the United States!' She must have been talking about Kennedy."
In fact, the mom of two is all about taking advice—whether it be from her mom or the experts. Keep reading to see what she's learned from her dermatologist, facialist, as well as the skincare tricks she's discovered on her own.

She's pro sunscreen.
Since quarantine began in March, Catherine did a three part series of Q&As on her Instagram page where she answered questions from her followers. One of the questions asked what her travel essentials were. She responded saying, "My husband, my kids, my passport, and sunscreen. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. Really, it's getting brutal out there and we have to protect our skin." She went on to admit that she loves being "bronzed and all gorgeously suntanned" but that she's still diligent about her sun protection.
She's all about hydration.
On top of the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, the star also shared that she loves to use oils. When asked about her favorite skincare product Catherine replied saying, "I work a lot with essential oils. I mix my own. I put oils on my face."
She exfoliates every day.
She followed the above statement about oils up by saying that "to counteract the greasiness of the oils," she exfoliates every day. "So with a very mild exfoliating cream or a gel just to buff off those dead skin cells and then lather up with some great oils." A word to the wise: If you have sensitive skin, exfoliating just a couple of times a week should do the trick without causing irritation.

She doesn't pick at her face.
In a quick fire Q&A with W magazine, Catherine was asked what the best advice from her facialist has been and she responded, "don't pick!!!" While this can be the hardest advice for some people to follow, her facialist is right. Dermatologist Dendy Engelman, MD, previously told WH, “popping anything causes your skin to physically break apart, making it more susceptible to infection and an even bigger problem than what was originally there in the first place."
