Cate Blanchett Just Wore a Men’s Tie-Dye Jumpsuit & Now We Totally Want One
ICYMI: Tie-dye is one of the hottest trends of summer. (Who saw that coming, right?) We were skeptical at first, but it slowly grew on us. However, it wasn’t until we saw Cate Blanchett traipsing around New York in a tie-dye jumpsuit that we realized just how chic it really is.
The 50-year-old Where’d You Go Bernadette star basically floated off the sidewalk at the Brewery Hotel yesterday wearing the Triple RRR Cloud jumpsuit from the 2018 fall/winter menswear collection. Yes, not only was tastemaker Cate Blanchett wearing a tie dye jumpsuit, but she was wearing a men’s tie-dye jumpsuit. Spoiler alert: It looked incredible on her.
Blanchett’s Triple RRR piece (which was designed by Roberto Cavalli’s son, BTW) featured a drop crotch, drawstring waist and, of course, pockets. It’s structured, it’s on-trend and it looks really comfortable.
Since it’s from 2018, the jumpsuit is sadly no longer available, but there are a few similar options out there. The Paradised Après Beach jumpsuit ($450) may not be tie-dye but it’s structurally similar and, as this editor can attest, endlessly comfortable. Stella McCartney also makes a tie-dye boilersuit ($478) and Young Fabulous & Broke ($128) makes a great sweatsuit one. So, you have options.
Hot off her Where’d You Go Bernadette press tour, where she also served up fire looks, the Oscar winner paired her on-trend loungewear-inspired piece with white Tod’s platform loafers ($591) with a monk strap and tassels. She also added a cerulean blue hobo bag and pink translucent sunglasses to the ensemble to make it even more eclectic.
Did Cate Blanchett just become one of our new favorite style icons? Yep.
