Carrie Underwood Says This Quarantine Moment Confirmed That Her Marriage Is “Solid”
Quarantine is definitely testing couples—some might say it brings out the worst in them. But for Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher, it’s brought out the best. In an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Underwood said the extra quality time has confirmed that their marriage is “solid.”
“He kind of summed it up one night,” she told the publication of her husband, a former NHL player. “We were a couple months in and had been very much in quarantine just with each other for a while. He said: ‘You know what? I like you.’ I was like: ‘What does that mean? You like me?’ He was like: ‘I know I love you—we’ve been married 10 years this year and have two kids together. But this experience has showed me I like you, too.”
Underwood couldn’t help but notice what “a nice moment” it was, to hear Fisher say something so honest and sweet. She said she replied: “I like you too.”
That moment falls in line with an endearing photo the country star recently shared to Instagram on National Boyfriend Day. In it, she and Fisher are smiling with their arms around one another. “Been married for 10 years, but he’s still my boyfriend…” she wrote.

The parents of two—Isaiah, 5 and Jacob, 1—haven’t gone without challenges in and out of quarantine, but the pandemic has reminded them of their strength as a couple. “We’re not meant to be all together, all day, every day. At no other time in history has it been like this,” the “Cry Pretty” singer explained to Yahoo! “There’s always been somebody working, somebody taking care of the kids, the kids going to school... No time in our humanness have we just all been together all day, every day. But it has been nice and refreshing knowing: OK, we’re solid. We like each other. We love each other. We can do this. We can work together even through the craziest of times.” (Not to mention, they’ve even managed to stick to their fitness routines while juggling it all.)
If any couple can get through 2020 and still have love for each other, they can get through anything.
