Candace Cameron Bure
You can often catch Candace Cameron Bure flashing a bright smile or laughing with friends in her social media updates and public appearances, but like many others, she's also struggled with her mental health.
The actress opened up about dealing with depression in a revealing episode of her podcast, The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, describing it as "such a lonely place and it’s very difficult to speak out about it, even to your most trusted people" as she had tears in her eyes.
Cameron Bure posted a clip of the conversation on Instagram, writing, "We’ve been going through feelings and emotions this season on the @candacecameronburepodcast," while introducing author Jennie Allen, who appeared in the episode.
"It’s hard to admit it, at least for me, I feel like because I should be strong enough to overcome that and then it just feels weak," said the Full House actress, talking about the difficulty in admitting that you're struggling and asking for help. "Yet there's so, so many times when I'm like, 'I don't want to feel this way.'...I can't pull myself out by myself. But it's hard to extend the arm and go, 'Help me.'"
Many of Cameron Bure's fans praised her "transparency and vulnerability," relating to her struggles. One cheered her on by commenting, "You are so loving and vulnerable. This is an important conversation," while many more called her "strong" and "brave" for being so open about her depression.
In the past, the actress–who turns 48 in April–also shared that exercise helps her improve her mental health. "I need to keep my mental health clear. Just sweating that out and all those endorphins really help me a lot. I notice a huge difference when I don’t exercise, how much it can affect me mentally and kind of deal with depression," she explained while speaking with The Salvation Army Midland Division.
Cameron Bure started her podcast in late 2022, and through the project, she has explored many topics, including facing failure, personal growth, and mental health, like in the newest episode.
