Camilla Shares a Royal Reading List Amid the Coronavirus Pandemic
As the coronavirus crisis continues, many are finding solace in the pages of books. So today, the Duchess of Cornwall is sharing her favorite tomes in hopes of offering a bit of comfort during this difficult time.
Camilla began her list of royal reads, which was first published in a local paper in Scotland, with Ernest Hemingway's famous quote "There is no friend as loyal as a book," before launching into her recommendations.
"In these challenging times when we are isolated from the ones we love, many of us are finding comfort in reading, to fire up our imaginations, to take us on journeys and to make us laugh," she said. "With that in mind here is a list of my dearest 'friends'…"
Her picks range from the classic (Charles Dickens) to more recent successes (Amor Towles's New York Times bestseller, A Gentleman in Moscow) to the personal (her late-brother's memoir, Travels on My Elephant). Find them all below, alongside a note from the Duchess explaining why these are the stories she's choosing to share.
