  • This morning, Queen Elizabeth is hosting a reception at Buckingham Palace in honor of Prince Charles, and the 50th anniversary of his investiture as the Prince of Wales.

  • While Charles received the title in 1968 via letters patent, his formal investiture would not take place until the follow year.

  • For the occasion, Charles's wife Camilla chose to wear a rich green skirt suit.

At today's Buckingham Palace reception celebrating the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles's investiture as the Prince of Wales, the heir to the British throne is surrounded by his close family, including Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and of course, his wife Camilla.

The Duchess of Cornwall just arrived at the event, and was seen wearing a dark green skirt suit. Black tights and pumps completed the look.

She was also sporting an emerald brooch, which appears to resemble the Prince of Wales Feathers brooch. That would make sense given the theme of today's festivities, but until additional photos are released, it's difficult to say for sure.

In addition to members of the royal family, representatives from the numerous Welsh charities Charles supports are also in attendance at today's party. According to the BBC, highlights of the event will include a speech given by the Archbishop of Canterbury and a performance by the students of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Notably, a new piece by Welsh composer Paul Mealor will be part of the day's program.
