Britney Spears is single and ready to mingle as she's reportedly connected with a new love interest: Paul Richard Soliz.
Reporters apparently caught up with Soliz, 37, following a court appearance for allegedly violating his probation. When asked about Spears, 41, he told Us Weekly, "She’s a phenomenal woman."
"She’s a very, very good, positive," Soliz continued, "She’s a good person."
Spears and Soliz apparently met when he was hired to do maintenance around her home, but according to the publication, he was terminated from his position after two months for unknown reasons.
"I’m not a bad dude. I understand that things have been said about me in the past, and I have a criminal record — I get it," he shared. "I’m a working man. I own my own business. I do a licensed contractor technique tile."
According to records obtained by the outlet, Soliz's criminal background includes charges for multiple misdemeanors, like disturbing the peace, child endangerment and driving without a license, in addition to felonies for possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of a firearm.
Though he didn't confirm that the two are an exclusive couple, he did say that he does see Spears and that "she’s doing great." He also commented on Spears' soon-to-be-ex-husband, Sam Asghari, telling reporters that he's a "great guy."
The duo's rumored romance comes about a month after the pop star's split from the 29-year-old model was confirmed.
Though the "Toxic" singer has kept most of the details regarding her past relationship private, she said she was "shocked" when Asghari filed for divorce.
"Six years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked," she said in an Aug. 18 update posted to her Instagram page. "But … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business!!! But, I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly!!!"
"I’ve been playing it strong for way too long," she added, noting that despite how their relationship looked from afar, what social media saw wasn't the whole picture. "And my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that!!! I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses!!!"
