The Boudin Festival continues to help Scott grow
SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — It’s Friday and the boudin festival is kicking off its first day with food, music, carnival rides and an overall good time in Scott.
News 10 spoke with the Mayor Jan-Scott Richard who says not only does the Boudin Festival bring out the best in boudin, but the impact it has on the city is huge.
“We’ve grown tremendously. It has a huge economic impact on our community, not just on the festival weekend, but it’s what happens after that. The compounded revenue that we see from the foot traffic that’s going to be garnered from the fact that they experienced the boudin here at the festival,” Richard explained.
Held in the heart of downtown Scott, festival goers can find out why the city is called the boudin capital of the world.
“This is the core of our community, this is where our community was founded, is in the downtown area back in 1907. So it’s super important that we keep that tradition alive and then we encourage people to come out and enjoying the festivities of the boudin festival this weekend.””
Happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday the boudin festival is great for the family to come out and have an amazing time making memories, and eating boudin.
