‘Bold and the Beautiful’ Star Reportedly in the Running for Superman

A dreamy soap opera star may end up as the next "Man of Steel!"

The Bold and the Beautiful's Pierson Fodé, who played Thomas Forrester from 2015 to 2018, is rumored to be in the running for James Gunn's Superman: Legacy.

In April, the filmmaker told Variety, “The next Superman has to be someone who has all the humanity that Superman has, but he’s also an alien. It’s gotta be somebody who has the kindness and the compassion that Superman has and be somebody who you want to give a hug.” At the time, he expressed excitement over the options they were reviewing at the time.

Now, writer Marc Malkin has heard whispers that Fodé may be a frontrunner. Sources reportedly told Malkin that the 31-year-old actor sent in a self-tape featuring a montage of his parallel childhood on a small town farm. Gunn is said to have "liked what he saw."

Representatives for Fodé, Gunn, and Warner Bros. offered no comment about the potential casting, but an insider confirmed to Malkin that no decisions have been made at this time.

Former Clark Kent Henry Cavill announced that he was hanging up his cape this past December, after a decade of playing the famous superhero. Unfortunately, the decision was not his, with DC Studios' Gunn and Peter Safran making the call.

"It's sad news, everyone," Cavill wrote at the time, after they decided to move forward with a storyline focusing on a younger version of the character. The decision forced Cavill to backtrack on his previous confirmation that he would, in fact, be returning just two months prior.
