Blake Lively Exudes Mystery in the Brand-New Trailer for ‘A Simple Favor’
This brand-new trailer for A Simple Favor is like Gone Girl on steroids.
Lionsgate just dropped the first full-length trailer for the upcoming film A Simple Favor, which stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick and is based on the namesake novel by Darcey Bell. But (disclaimer!) the teaser is not for the fainthearted.
In the clip, we’re introduced to a woman named Emily (Lively), who—according to Stephanie (Kendrick)—is a “wonderful” and “elegant” person she just met. Although it starts off as a platonic relationship between two moms, things take an interesting turn when Stephanie realizes everything is not as it seems.
“Oh, you do not want to be friends with me. Trust me,” Emily says.
The plot gets even more terrifying when Emily asks her new friend for help and then goes missing, prompting Stephanie to launch a missing person hunt and uncover secrets that were better left buried.
The trailer concludes with Emily saying, “People do terrible things for their own reasons.”
Gulp. A Simple Favor will hit theaters on September 14.
