Seven years ago, Prince William and Kate Middleton exchanged vows in Westminster Abbey, and it was all sorts of sweet. How did these two lovebirds meet? In case you don’t remember, let us take you on a trip down memory lane.
William and Kate’s royal road to romance began in college. The two ran in the same circles while attending the University of St Andrews. They graduated in 2005, and sparks were definitely in the air. The pressures of being in the public eye and having their every move documented in the media took a toll on their relationship.
In 2007, William and Kate took a relationship break. Before that single tear starts rolling down your cheek, the breakup was brief. A few months later, they were back together, and Middleton was joining the royal family on vacation and at fancy events. “I’m very, very lucky. He looks after me as much as possible,” she said.
Three years later it happened! Prince William proposed with the sapphire-and-diamond ring of his late mom, Princess Diana. What a beautiful gesture. Hearts were melting everywhere. A year later, they were husband and wife, aka the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
In 2013, heir to the throne Prince George arrived, and they subsequently welcomed Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to their growing family. “It is fantastic having a lovely little family, and I am so thrilled,” William said.
Little Louis, who was born in April, will be christened on July 9 at the Chapel Royal, St. James’s Palace, London. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will conduct the service. He also married Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May.
