Big Wave Surfer Kai Lenny Surfs, SUPs, and Foils in Southern California (Watch)
We've seen a lot from Kai Lenny lately.
Most of it is what we've come to expect from the eight-time world champ. He's been hydrofoil fishing in Fiji, surfing huge waves at Teahupo'o, doing mind-blowing barrel roles, and recalling his evolution into a waterman.
We've also seen a side of Lenny most of us haven't seen before. Like his serious fandom for Bruce Lee and his sense of humor while spoofing a luxury car ad.
But in his latest vlog above, we see the Lenny we're most familiar with as he rips all sorts of boards during a Southern California strike mission.
The edit dropped today and Lenny captioned it:
"Southern California is a playground for more than just Surfing. I always bring different sports with me just incase the conditions aren't perfect.
"When I wasn't scoring Trestles on my short board, I went down to San O to SUP and riding my Foil. Good Fun at the Nuclear Power Plant."
The video kicks off with a side of Lenny's surfing we don't actually see that much anymore, a side where he shreds a short board on head high, super fun waves. He does go switch stance and still totally rips, but for some of the video Lenny's surfing in its purest form.
It's refreshing to see after all of his other superhuman, big wave surfing antics.
Naturally, he get's into the other stuff too like SUPing, foiling and airs.
So press play above for around 10 minute of Lenny shredding SoCal.
