Beyoncé Partners with the NAACP to Give $10K Grants to Black-Owned Small Businesses
In partnership with the NAACP and through her foundation, BeyGOOD, Beyoncé will be awarding $10,000 grants to Black-owned small businesses in an effort to mitigate negative effects of "recent events."
Eligible applicants must be from Houston, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, or Minneapolis, and have until July 18 to apply.
Selected applicants will be notified by the end of the month.
Last week, the NAACP and Beyoncé's foundation, BeyGOOD, announced that they would be partnering to award $10,000 grants to Black-owned small businesses affected by "recent events across the country."
"Over the last couple of months, the pandemic and outpours for justice throughout the Black community and across the country has been felt in every imaginable area of our lives, including in how our local businesses continue to operate," the NAACP website reads. "The challenges of Black business owners navigating in the climate cannot be understated, as the effects of uprisings across the nation have led to many businesses being placed in dire straits due to damages and other small business needs."
To apply to the Black-Owned Small Business Impact Fund, potential applicants must provide their property damage or replacement estimates, as well as be located in Houston, Atlanta, New York, Los Angeles, or Minneapolis. Submissions first opened on July 9 and will close on July 18. The selected applicants will then be announced via Beyoncé's website on July 31.

Beyoncé first launched BeyGOOD in 2013 as a global initiative to encourage others to be kind to each other, the community, and the world at large. Since, the foundation has partnered with programs to help communities across the United States, Europe, Africa, South America, and the Caribbean.
