Beyoncé Demands Justice for George Floyd in an Impassioned Instagram Video
Beyoncé took to Instagram on Friday night to share a video about the tragic death of George Floyd.
The singer told her fans, "I'm sure you feel hopeless by the racism going on in America right now."
Beyoncé urged viewers to sign a petition to seek justice for Floyd, and to end violence against people of color.
Protests have been taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, following the police killing of George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man who suffocated after a police officer kneeled on his neck. Celebrities have been taking to social media, demanding justice for Floyd, and challenging Donald Trump's threats of violence over the protests.
On Friday night, Beyoncé posted an impassioned Instagram video, which she captioned, "If you want to demand more charges brought on all those involved in the death of George Floyd, click the link in my bio to sign the petition."
The superstar told viewers, "We need justice for George Floyd. We all witnessed his murder in broad daylight. We're broken and we're disgusted. We cannot normalize this pain."

Beyoncé continued, "I'm not only speaking to people of color. If you're white, black, brown, or anything in between, I'm sure you feel hopeless by the racism going on in America right now. No more senseless killings of human beings. No more seeing people of color as less than human. We can no longer look away."
"George is all of our family," the performer said. "He's our family because he's a fellow American. There have been too many times that we've seen these violent killings and no consequences. Yes, someone's been charged, but justice is far from being achieved."
Finally, she told viewers, "Please sign the petition, and continue to pray for peace and compassion and healing for our country. Thank you so much."
