Best and worst celebrity fashion of the week: Vote for your favourite (and least favourite) looks, from Katy Perry to Tinashe
From European getaways to red carpet premieres in New York, some of your favourite stars turned heads with their fashion.
Celebrity fashion is something a lot of us might love to discuss, especially when one of Hollywood's biggest names walks a red carpet wearing a piece that's expected to be talked about for decades. This week, we're raving about outfits worn by models like Jodie Turner-Smith and Chanel Iman, who both recently stepped out in vibrant colours. Pop star Katy Perry and actresses Sarayu Blue and Nicola Coughlan also brought out the glamour over the last few days.
On the other hand, other big names in entertainment missed the mark with their style this week. Emily Ratajkowski and Sofia Carson presented questionable looks at galas, while actresses Emily Deschanel and Olivia Cooke weren't our red-carpet favourites. Additionally, singer Tinashe might've went a bit off the deep end with her style at a mid-week party.
However, we want to hear from Yahoo Canada readers: Which celebrity wore the best look this past week in your opinion? Which star should snag the worst-dressed award? Cast your votes in our polls below, and see if your thoughts fall in line with other readers. Then, check back in over the weekend, when we'll share the winners and losers of this week's fashion round up.
BEST: Katy Perry
One of India's richest families has, once again, hired an A-list celebrity to celebrate an upcoming wedding. After pulling Rihanna out of music retirement in March to play a wedding party, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant called up The Backstreet Boys, Pitbull and Katy Perry to help mark the festivities.
After the party's luxury cruise left Italy and landed in the south of France on Monday, Perry performed some of her hit songs in Cannes. The "Firework" singer took to her personal Instagram to share a series of glamorous photos and a video of herself from the occasion.
The 39-year-old wore an orange sheer gown featuring large sequins from LaPointe's pre-fall 2024 collection. She paired the look with a bright orange bikini and matching Aquazzura leather sandal heels, as she let her luscious dark wavy hair flow over one shoulder.
WORST: Emily Ratajkowski
Emily Ratajkowski took her style back to the early-aughts earlier this week — but not in a way that fills us with nostalgia. The model arrived at the Gurls Talk Fundraising Gala in London on Tuesday wearing a plunging black silk dress over a pair of red trousers.
To accessorize, the 32-year-old wrapped a thin black scarf around her neck, wore open-toe black heels and carried a silver metal Rabanne handbag. Ratajkowski also showed off her two "divorce rings," which recently made headlines as a new fashion trend after she posted about repurposing her engagement ring from ex-husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.
BEST: Jodie Turner-Smith
Jodie Turner-Smith is channelling her inner fashion icon. Promoting the new series "The Acolyte" on June 3 in New York, the 37-year-old actress and model rocked four head-turning looks. She kicked off her press day wearing a feathery baby pink Shushu/Tong cropped tank top featuring a black bow and matching high-waisted briefs. Then, she stepped into a mint green Wiederhorft dress with a white corset, followed by a stunning, groovy multicolored Balmain minidress with suede green Christian Louboutin boots.
But Turner-Smith's final look of the day, a plunging v-neck Balmain minidress stole our hearts. The baby blue piece was adorned with sparkly pink flamingoes, which Turner-Smith matched with metallic purple open-toe heels, a clean pixie haircut and Bucherer Fine Jewelry.
WORST: Tinashe
We're unsure anyone's going to match this kind of freak, Tinashe. The singer behind the viral hit "Nasty" was spotted on Tuesday exiting Craig's restaurant in West Hollywood, Calif., wearing a colourful ensemble that almost hurts to look at.
On top of red low-rise micro mini shorts and a pair of silver zip-up boots featuring bag handles, the 31-year-old artist opted for a red, yellow and blue Spotify-branded FC Barcelona Hood Baby jersey with blue long sleeves featuring polka dots. If that wasn't enough, she added a dark red short wig that speaks for itself. We do love her black mini bag that boasts the word's "God's favorite," though.

That same night, Tinashe hosted a Pride kick-off party in collaboration with Playboy, teaming up with rapper Saweetie and DJ Alex Chapman for a weeknight full of fun.
BEST: Sarayu Blue
"Expats" star Sarayu Blue attended the first-ever Gotham TV Awards on Tuesday wearing an ethereal outfit fit for a queen. The 49-year-old actress's breathtaking Georges Chakra black sheer gown naturally flowed into a dramatic train, while a gold plunging body suit drew the eyes back to her face.
On Instagram, Blue nodded to "Expats" creator Lulu Wang, who won the Spotlight Tribute Award: "It's undeniable to see how much love she puts into every frame. And it's also clear how much care she put into building a world led primarily by women."
WORST: Sofia Carson
Attending the third annual Cam For A Cause gala from The Cameron Boyce Foundation, Sofia Carson looked a bit swallowed-up in her Oscar de la Renta gown. The off-white sleeveless piece, from the fashion house's fall 2024 collection, featured ostrich feathers and shiny sequins, which was a stark contrast to the 31-year-old actress's dark straight hair.
Speaking about her "Descendants" co-star at the Los Angeles event, Carson told People that Boyce was "like sunshine" and that she always thinks of the late actor's smile whenever she thinks of him: "He walked through life with such joy and I don't think any of us could ever let that go."
BEST: Nicola Coughlan
Celebrating the premiere of the second part of "Bridgeton" season three, Nicola Coughlan looked like a cloud of beauty in Toronto on Monday. The actress wore a Sara Mrad SS24 couture look, featuring a lavender blue ripple-style strapless mini dress and a dramatic ruby red silk cape. She paired her outfit with see-through Christian Louboutin pumps, as well as gold "Droplet" earrings from Ysso.
Topping off her look, the 37-year-old wore a red pin she's been wearing throughout her "Bridgerton" press circuit. The accessory represents Artists4Ceasefire, a collection of artists who wrote an open letter to President Biden calling for "an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Gaza and Israel before another life is lost."
WORST: Emily Deschanel
Bright, vibrant colours were all the rage at the Tuesday VIP screening of "Let The Canary Sing" in Los Angeles, but Emily Deschanel's blue short-sleeve dress was screaming for too much attention. The Tanya Taylor Janelle Dress featured a floral print and a tiered, pleated structure that was busy and loud.
While we do love summer, the v-neck and ruffled sleeves of this garment makes the 47-year-old actress appear more prepared for the beach than the red carpet. Still, the "Bones" star's hair and makeup added a touch of effortless glam that can't be ignored.
BEST: Chanel Iman
Speaking of summer, Chanel Iman looked radiant during Miami Swim Week wearing a multi-coloured asymmetrical gown from Nigerian-Canadian designer Andrea Iyamah. Iman wore the Turi Mesh Dress at a poolside party the brand held in collaboration with C?roc Limonata on June 1 at Soho Beach House Miami. The bodycon one-shoulder piece featured a thigh-high slit and a sleeve-wrap that simply elevated the 33-year-old model's elegance.
Iyamah told Yahoo Canada the designs selected for this event were chosen for both their aesthetic and craftsmanship: "These designs are meant to be statement-makers, yet comfortable and functional. ... Swimwear can inspire bold confidence when it's made to move with you."
WORST: Olivia Cooke
Olivia Cooke almost hit the mark when it came to fashion for the red carpet premiere of "House of the Dragon" in New York on Monday. However, the 30-year-old's striking blue Loewe gown lost all the attention thanks to a gaudy black belt buckle piece. The sleeveless, mock neck number was part of the fashion brand's fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection.
