'Baywatch's Nicole Eggert Sends a Bold Warning Message About Breast Implants
Nicole Eggert
Nicole Eggert is getting candid about her experience with breast implants after deciding to undergo breast augmentation surgery when she was just 18 years old.
Now, 34 years later, the former actress isn't afraid to admit she regrets it.
After facing insecurities about her body while working on Baywatch, which also famously starred Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff, Eggert made the decision to get breast implants during a break from filming.
"I regret it now, of course," Eggert told People in a new interview published on Saturday, Jan. 27, over a month after she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.
"I look at all these younger girls doing it and think, ‘God, leave your bodies alone!'" she added. "But when you have to put on that one-piece and it's like you're so flat that it's like pleating—you got pleats across the front... You're like, 'What is this?' Nothing you can do. You can't stuff it with anything. You can't do anything."
As she got older, Eggert came to see her implants as a "stupid 18 year old decision," one she only made as a result of her insecurity on set of the lifeguard-centered series.
"All the girls worked out and were super tiny and fit and I was like 'Whoops,'" she said, reflecting on her time on the show, which she initially joined without realizing she would have to be in a swimsuit all day every day. "And the one-piece bathing suits were not flattering. I didn’t want to wear it at all."
Eggert ended up leaving Baywatch after two seasons, and later underwent multiple breast augmentation surgeries, including a 2015 appearance on Botched to have her breast size reduced.
In December 2023, she was diagnosed with cribriform carcinoma breast cancer after experiencing severe pain in her left breast and subsequently finding a lump during a self-exam.
She will need surgery to remove the cancer, and as of earlier this month, she is waiting for her oncologist to determine the rest of her treatment plan, which will include chemotherapy and radiation.
