All I want to do is dress like Barbie this summer, and here are 12 pink styles I’m shopping
We can never predict the things that will bring us together, and I think it’s beautiful that we’re bonding over the Barbie movie right now. When those first on-set photos were released last summer, the swarm of protectiveness over how Greta Gerwig would portray our beloved doll-boss brought tears to my eyes. But now that we’re all in agreement that the film is going to be fab, I literally haven’t gone a day without hearing someone planning their outfit for opening day. Is this what world peace looks like?

I’m still unsure what exactly Barbie will be doing in her movie, but after watching the trailers several times, I know one thing: I need her closet. I need a dream house-quality closet with perfectly coordinated pink outfits for every event and I need pink accessories to pair them with. I also need a pink car — but we’re working up to that one! I’m in this Barbie thing for the long haul, and that means pinking up my wardrobe stat. And helping with yours too, of course.
Now, before you come at me, I am aware that Barbie wears more than just pink. However, I want my Barbie Girl Summer to be full of pink! The more pink the better! So that’s what we’re going with here. Drink every time I say pink and then get to shopping!
This one takes it back to one of our first glimpses at Barbie and Ken. Not quite sure about their '80s vibe in the gym, but love it for beach and pool days.
If you’re not totally ready to let your Barbie flag fly, I think this satin tank is the perfect way to show your support while sticking to your regular style.
I don’t know if you guys caught that Barbie-at-the-rodeo moment in the promo material, but she’s wearing the most fab lace-up pants that will probably influence everyone’s going-out fits. Lucky for you, these PacSun ones aren’t pink, so you’ll stand out in the crowd. You’re welcome!
One of my tactics for incorporating pink into my daily looks is adding some fuchsia basics to the mix. I am basically banishing all white, black and gray tees until further notice.
I mean, do I really need to explain myself here? Barbie herself would be jealous of these, and that’s saying something.
This Barbie x Billie collab is giving 2001 in the best way possible. One sec, going to show my age and my Barb allegiance by wearing these to grab groceries.
I’m honestly into the subtle Barbie inspiration and this very cute Hill House top fits the bill. I’m seeing a very seamless transition from the movie theater to the bars.
I feel like this peter pan collar situation is a Barbie-meets-Sophie Richie situation and I’m into it. It’s classy, it’s dainty and I think it’s what she’s wearing when she’s leaving Barbie Land for the first time. I will confirm on July 21st.
You can absolutely throw on this pink button-down for any occasion, but I feel like it’s great for incorporating Barbie-core into your work wardrobe. I am wondering if her poise and permanent smile come with the shirt...
OK, please tell me you agree: A pink shirt feels like a likely closet mainstay, but pink pants? A statement! That's one way to make it very clear that you’re manifesting life in the dreamhouse with these comfy Good American flares.
Barbie has two pink gingham looks in her closet — one midi dress (for more formal Barbie activities) and a mini for letting loose. I’m trying to manifest lots of letting loose this summer, so we’re opting for the mini. Plus it’s on sale.
I am obsessed with the fact that President Barbie (our beloved Issa Rae) and all of her constituents wear matching pink jumpsuits when making political progress. Because why wouldn’t they? That means we all should wear a pink jumpsuit when making important decisions this summer. The verdict is in — meeting adjourned.
