Former President Barack Obama reflected on Chadwick Boseman's visit to the White House, following the news that the Black Panther star has passed away.
Obama revealed, "Chadwick came to the White House to work with kids when he was playing Jackie Robinson."
He also re-shared a photo taken with Boseman during the White House visit.
Fans and celebrities have been reacting to the tragic news that actor Chadwick Boseman has died following a four-year battle with colon cancer. He was 43-years-old.
From Boseman's fellow Black Panther cast mates to Hollywood stars he'd worked with to fans of the performer's work, tributes have poured in from around the world. And former President Barack Obama has taken to Twitter to share his own story about the celebrated actor.
In a heartfelt tweet, Obama revealed, "Chadwick came to the White House to work with kids when he was playing Jackie Robinson. You could tell right away that he was blessed. To be young, gifted, and Black; to use that power to give them heroes to look up to; to do it all while in pain – what a use of his years."
Obama re-shared a photo taken during Boseman's visit. The actor captioned the original tweet, "Thanks for your service and for your advice. #theprinceandthepresident #inthehousethatslavesbuilt #tbt #DemsinPhilly."
Boseman's family revealed the actor's passing in a statement and said, "It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing on Chadwick Boseman."
