New bar and restaurant featuring margaritas and country music to open in Fairport
A bar and restaurant with a welcoming, low key vibe will open in the former home to Smokin' Hot Chicks BBQ in The Cannery in Fairport.
Country Roads will be housed in the industrial space at 25 Parce Ave. that once housed the American Can Company.
It will feature specialty cocktails and house made margaritas in a variety of flavors, said Oz Tozan, general manager, who has helped launch dozens of hospitality businesses in the Rochester area. Tim Parinello, who owns BluHorn Tequilaria in Pittsford, is owner.
The food will be mostly shareable, with unpretentious fare like tacos, nachos, sliders and chicken sandwiches. Sunday brunch will be served once a month.
The bar in the space has been gutted, transformed and enlarged using repurposed palettes, Tozan said, adding that it was the "most eco-friendly, coolest way" to get the rustic, "country chic" look they wanted.
"There's tons of construction going on," Tozan said. "It's only the tip of the iceberg." He is eyeing an opening date in late June.
The sprawling Parce Avenue building in The Cannery is also home to Faircraft Brauhaus, Compane Trattoria, FairPour Coffee, Triphammer Bierwerks, Iron Smoke Distillery and Tin Cup Social. The complex recently expanded into a building at 75 N. Main St., which is now home to Fairport Pickleball Club, Preservation Beer Company and Sew Creative.
