Bacon Weave Apple Pie Is A King Amongst Desserts

If you're a Delish regular, you know we've done just about everything imaginable with bacon. We've used it as a bun, a tortilla, and perhaps most controversially, as a graham cracker. We love the smoky, salty flavors it brings to the table, and we use it in excess, without shame. To be frank, we're bacon fiends and it's about time Oscar-Meyer laced us.
A month or two ago, I came across some pies with a bacon lattice. How had we not done this?! It looks amazing, and there's no reason it wouldn't also taste delicious. I was obsessed. Soon my vision came to fruition, and I'm happy to report that it couldn't be easier!
For simplicity, I opted for a store bought pie crust but feel free to make your own. Next comes a simple mix of apples with some sugar and spices. Last but not least, the bacon! Turns out making a bacon lattice is even easier than making one out of pie dough. We topped ours with some brown sugar to combat the saltiness of the bacon. Bake it until the bacon is crispy and the apples are tender. We found the salty sweet combination totally irresistible, and we think you will too!
