'Bachelorette' Star Admits to Withholding Information About His Family
Nate Mitchell revealed the truth during the 'Men Tell All' episode on Monday.
Bachelorette contestant Nate Mitchell is addressing rumors that he kept his daughter a secret from an ex, which he claims he only did to keep his child safe.
"I went through a pretty traumatizing time when I went through a divorce, and essentially the foundation that was built around my daughter pretty much crumbled," Mitchell, 33, explained during the "Men Tell All" episode on Monday, August 29, according to Page Six.
"And the one thing that I protect most on this Earth is my daughter," he continued. "Like, I would never bring her into a situation that I feel is dangerous, a situation that I feel is unstable."
Mitchell also noted that the "instability" of his dating life is what caused him to "put a wall up" when it came to getting his daughter involved with his romantic relationships.
During his interview on Monday's episode, Bachelorette host Jesse Palmer also questioned Mitchel about allegations that he cheated on two women in the past, which he all but confirmed while apologizing for his previous behavior.
"I would say I am deeply sorry for the way I acted," he stated. "I should have been more communicative. I should have been more clear in my intentions."
He then addressed the audience, saying, "I pray that you forgive the man that I was because I'm not the same person."
Mitchell was outed during the latest season of the hit ABC reality show when his ex-girlfriend Kelsey Fankhauser posted a video to her TikTok account, claiming that Mitchell hid the fact that he had a daughter for a year and a half.
"I cried for a guy who kept his kid a secret from me for 1.5 years when we were dating and I found out on reality TV," Fankhauser said in the video, while Mitchell appeared on the show telling Bachelorette star Gabby Windey that his daughter is his "world."

Mitchell was eliminated during Week 6 of Season 19 amid Windey's fears that she wasn't ready to be a stepmom.
The Chicago native also took the opportunity during the tell-all to express that his relationship with Windey was "real," despite concerns about his intentions considering his shady past.
“Every moment and emotion that I had with Gabby was real,” he stated. “We both felt it. We experienced it. In past relationships, I can’t always say we had the commitment of boyfriend and girlfriend, but with this, I committed to Gabby as her boyfriend, and I walked into it with that lens.”
