Ashley Graham embraces her curves in all of her Miss Universe 2017 looks
Model Ashley Graham might not have made it to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but she did host Miss Universe on Sunday night — and she made a statement by doing so.
During a recent appearance in New York City, the plus-size model was photographed on the red carpet wearing a white two-piece outfit, which she told Yahoo Lifestyle was against the rules for women her size. But again on Sunday evening, she dared to wear white on the black carpet of the pageant to show just how amazing she looks in the tight, bright color. Ultimately, she was only preparing fans for the following three looks, which all prove why curvy women should be included in the pageant.
The white dress by Michael Costello was decorated with lace detailing and complemented with Bulgari jewels, which Graham showed off in an Instagram story. But the glamorous look was far from the most dazzling that the 30-year-old wore over the course of the night.
During interviews with each of the pageant’s contestants, Graham wore two other holiday hues, pairing each of them with a red lip. The smoky glam look went perfectly with Graham’s emerald sequined dress that hugged her every curve.

Graham’s red lip continued to tone down throughout the night, as her outfits turned up the volume. A red dress featuring a choker and off-the-shoulder strappy detailing made for another standout look that the supermodel credited her fashion fairy godmothers for. In an Instagram story featuring the red dress, Graham tagged her stylists from La Marque, hairstylist Justine Marjan, and makeup artist Allan Avenda?o, who put their magic together for the styling hat trick. However, the trio managed a fourth fabulous look.
Ending the night in gunmetal gray, Graham rocked a mermaid-style gown by Stello to go with her long flowing waves.

With all of the stunning looks that Graham pulled off throughout the night, there’s no doubt that she’d be a viable contestant for Miss Universe herself. And her participation backstage means we’re one step closer to more curvy women like her on the pageant’s stage in the future.
“I think we’re on the way,” Graham told Fox News. “If you can see a curvy girl on the cover of Sports Illustrated or Vogue, then we can definitely see a curvy girl as Miss Universe.”
