Artist honors veterans with a patriotic mural in Pineville
PINEVILLE, Mo. — Work is continuing on a new mural in McDonald County.
Local artist Sheena Standingbear has been working on a patriotic-themed painting, in Pineville, on the side of American Legion Post 392 for four days now.
It’s going to be a depiction of a bald eagle landing on an American flag.
Standingbear was commissioned by the Legion’s Post-Commander – but has decided to donate her time, with the hope of highlighting the resources available to veterans.
“We want people just to enjoy, we want people to come and you know, go to the restaurants, go to the creeks, see the mural, meet the people of Pineville. This is a great small community, and the legion members are amazing,” said Sheena Standingbear, Local Artist.

“This is gonna help, be able to tell them where it’s at, because you can see it from the stoplight, which is doing awesome,” said Tim McCaine, American Legion Post 392 Commander.
The mural is located at 301 Beeman Street in Pineville.
Work should be completed within the next two weeks.
