Arcane Season 2 Release Date Announced
Arcane Season 2 teaser
It’s Netflix Geeked Week, a week-long celebration of all things geeky coming from Netflix, and that means there are plenty of announcements abound — especially when it comes to the streamer’s animated shows. We’ve seen a bunch of big announcements already, but one in particular has League of Legends fans and animation fans alike buzzing: the release date for Arcane season 2.
Last night, Netflix released a new teaser trailer for the second season of Arcane — one of the best anime series on Netflix (yes, we know it’s not “technically” anime but it’s close enough). The clip is only about 15 seconds long, and shows a slow pan up to series lead Jinx with her signature weapon, the shark-shaped rocket launcher Fishbones. Her shadow reflects her sister Vi, and it’s all set against a very striking background of the bridge into Piltover shrouded in red.

At the end of the trailer, we get the reveal: Arcane season 2 will be launching in November 2024. No exact release date has been announced yet, but Netflix is usually pretty good about hitting its announced release windows, so we expect that in a year we’ll all either be watching the series or just about to.
Arcane’s second season was first confirmed to be in production almost exactly a year ago, in November 2022. The announcement was made just two weeks after the first season was released, after the series attracted millions of viewers. The series went on to win multiple Annie Awards, the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, and three Emmys for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation.
The series tells the canon backstory of a few characters in League of Legends, but primarily focuses on Vi and Jinx, two sisters on opposing sides of a conflict between the upper class and the lower class in the apparently utopian city of Piltover. It was animated by French production studio Fortiche, and featured the Imagine Dragons song Enemy as its theme song.
Arcane is currently available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
