Apparently The ‘Love Island’ Contestants Ate A Ton Of Bacon While Shacking Up In Fiji
Welcome to Love Island USA, where the people are hot, the tea is scalding, and, apparently, bacon is ready! This summer, the Islanders shacked up in a villa on the coast in Fiji, where they were forced to share everything—beds, a bathroom, and an outdoor kitchen—while getting to know each other and making love connections. But the hidden-camera-style footage never really showed you what the people really want to know: What do a bunch of sexy, swimsuit-clad singles keep in the communal fridge?
For Breakfast Week, Women's Health asked some of your favorite castaways (and host Arielle Vandenberg!) what was on the menu each morning on the show. (Spoiler alert: Lots of bacon.)
WH: What did you eat for breakfast on Love Island?
CM: Alex made great over easy eggs. I made peanut butter and banana toast and Zac made lots of bacon.
WH: How did this differ than your usual go-to breakfast?
CM: My go to breakfast is left over Taco Bell.
WH: Do you follow any specific diets/eating lifestyles?
CM: I’m the worst to interview here because I eat Taco Bell for everything. It's the first thing I ate when I got off the plane.
WH: What did you eat for breakfast on Love Island?
WH: For breakfast, we as Islanders were responsible for making it on our own which was nice. Usually each morning we made a generous portion of bacon, eggs, and toast. Avocados to go around as well as plenty of bananas!
WH: Do you follow any specific diets/eating lifestyles?
WH: I don’t particularly follow a single diet, but I try to watch my carbs. I’m a protein-heavy person, and I prefer all my eggs be egg whites!
WH: What did you eat for breakfast on Love Island?
KD: I ate scrambled eggs, bacon, apples, and lemon ginger tea.
WH: How did this differ than your usual go-to breakfast?
KD: It didn’t differ, but I would eat bigger portions in real life. Or eat rice with bacon and eggs.
WH: Do you follow any specific diets/eating lifestyles?
KD: No BUT I try not to have too much sodium or carbs. I also don’t drink soda or other fizzy drinks.
WH: What did you eat for breakfast on Love Island?
CB: I made a lot of banana and peanut butter smoothies. I made the best smoothies on the island. Lots of eggs and bacon too. It was a mad buffet.
WH: How did this differ than your usual go-to breakfast?
CB: It didn’t.
WH: Do you follow any specific diets/eating lifestyles?
CB: Generally I follow a high-fat, high-protein, low-carb diet.
WH: What did you eat for breakfast on Love Island?
AV: My usual morning meals were a combination of scrambled eggs, fried rice, and baked beans.
WH: How did this differ than your usual go-to breakfast?
AV: I’m very conscious about what I put into my body so I try to eat mostly organic, but my (almost) daily go to is still scrambled eggs! But usually in an almond flour or cassava flour tortilla.
WH: Do you follow any specific diets/eating lifestyles?
AV: I have been a meat eater, and a vegetarian, and completed many detoxes and cleanses. What I’ve found is my body functions at it’s best with a pescatarian lifestyle.
