'Tonight Show' Cancels Tapings After Jimmy Fallon's Mother Gloria Dies
Jimmy Fallon has canceled tapings for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon all week following the death of the talk show host's mother on Saturday.
A spokeswoman for Fallon told the Associated Press that his mother, Gloria Fallon, died at New York City's Langone Medical Center with her son and other family members by her side. She was 68.
"Jimmy Fallon's mother, Gloria, died peacefully on Saturday," the spokesperson told People in a statement. "Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time."
Fallon told the AP through his spokeswoman that he lost his "biggest fan."
The Tonight Show had canceled its episode on Friday, Nov. 3, following reports of a "private Fallon family matter."
Gloria Fallon attended the taping of her son's first night hosting The Tonight Show in 2014. While Jimmy Fallon has mostly kept his family out of the spotlight, he has featured his mom in the show's hashtag segment, #MomQuotes.
NBC said Sunday that repeat episodes of The Tonight Show will be shown from Monday to Friday, as Fallon mourns with his family.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
