It's Technically Still Summer But Kate Middleton Is Already Dressing for Fall
Yesterday, Kate Middleton declared it fall-at least in Ballater, Scotland where the Duchess of Cambridge, her husband Prince William, and her kids (plus Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, reportedly) are staying with the Queen at Balmoral Castle. Kate was photographed en route to Crathie Kirk for church service with Queen Elizabeth II dressed in an autumnal grey coat, pearl earrings, and black fascinator. The Queen was considerably more summery in bright blue.
The outfit isn't terribly out of place in Ballater though, where the weather yesterday was pretty cool: 55 was the high and 46 was the low. Fall is upon us-at least in Scotland.
The photographed outing is rare though for the royals, who remain on vacation from events this month. The Queen will likely remain at Balmoral Castle until the beginning of October, while Meghan and Prince Harry will be back out this week doing their first event on Wednesday. Kate has been on maternity leave herself since the spring but should return to events in early fall-meaning this car ride is an extra rare glimpse of her during a time she's otherwise been largely out of the public eye.
