Like most things in Kondo's life, there's a measured reason behind the move: “It is part of my brand,” she explained in a 2015 interview with The New Yorker, “my image color. It is easy to recognize me.” Silvia Killingsworth, writer of the piece, also noted that she chooses to stick to white clothing — at least when she's on the job — because of "its association with cleanliness and tidiness."
