Another drive-thru coffee shop to make Jacksonville debut. Meet Red Owl Coffee Company

Three months after making its Northeast Florida debut, South Georgia-based Red Owl Coffee Company is opening its second area drive-thru cafe — this one the first in Jacksonville.

Located at 5720 University Blvd. in the Englewood neighborhood, Red Owl — opening on Saturday — joins a number of other drive-thru coffee shops in Jacksonville, including Ellianos Coffee, 7Brew and Scooter’s Coffee.

Red Owl is known for its "craft-roasted coffee beans" which are at the heart of its signature hot, iced and frozen specialty coffees, espresso, lattes and frappes. It also offers a small menu of breakfast foods, including sandwiches, bagels, muffins and a protein bowl, featuring egg, cheese, sausage or bacon, on a bed of spinach.

Red Owl Coffee Company's signature custom coffee drinks include:

• Golden Owl: A blend of caramel and vanilla

• Raphael: A blend of caramel and dark mocha

• Caramel Dolce: A blend of caramel and white mocha

• Dosta Double: Double-strength, creamy, brown sugar iced coffee

• The Yorkshire: The classic Dosta Double flavored with butterscotch then topped with cold foam and dark mocha drizzle

• Ripper: Quadruple strength Dosta Double

The coffee company's Hoot Energy drinks — Poison Dart, Night Vision and Solar Shock — are "packed with caffeine, B12, natural sugars," and are available iced or frozen.

Other featured beverages include teas, smoothies, milkshakes and hot cocoa.

Founded in 2016 in Valdosta, Ga., Red Owl introduced itself to the Jacksonville area in December with the opening of its cafe at 208 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park. That coffee shop replaced a former Krystal restaurant.

In addition to the Jacksonville and Orange Park coffee shops, Red Owl lists upcoming Florida locations in St. Augustine Beach as well as Tallahassee and Ocala.
