?Anne Hathaway Shuts Down Body Shamers
As we all know, women are often trolled and shamed when they gain or lose weight because the world is extremely sexist, and ugh. And if you're a celebrity with a social media account, the comments section can be an especially cruel place. Which brings us to Anne Hathaway.
The actress went ahead and preemptively shut down body shamers by announcing that she's trying to gain weight for a new movie role, and she isn't here for anyone's opinion on the subject.
"I’m gaining weight for a movie role and it is going well," Anne shared along with a video of herself weight training. "To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it’s not me, it’s you. Peace xx."
Hathaway has had to deal with people being rude/judgmental about her for quite some time now (please see: Hathahating)-but she learned to develop a thick skin, telling Jezebel in 2017: "I sort of see all of that for what it is. How the world feels about me has nothing to do with me. How other people treat me has nothing to do with me. But if anything that anybody said resonated with me as something I’d like to work on for myself, I took it in like that."
