Anderson Cooper Told Ina Garten That His Son Wyatt Already Has A Better Palate Than He Does
Most new parents and caregivers are familiar with a dinner that consists solely of scraps from your children's dinners. And while bites of mac & cheese and pureed veggies may not seem like adventurous fare, apparently if you're Anderson Cooper, that counts as a very expansive palate. The TV anchor chatted with Ina Garten this weekend about a variety of topics including his son's favorite foods, their time in quarantine, and their shared love of PB&Js.
During an episode of his show Full Circle, Anderson told Ina that his seven-month-old son Wyatt is a "good eater" already and that he gives him "hope" that he will be an adventurous eater when he grows up.
“I have a palate of a five-year-old, but apparently a seven-month-old has a much better palate,” Anderson said, according to PEOPLE, before naming some of Wyatt's favorite foods.
“He’s drinking milk mostly but I give him an oatmeal cereal in the morning,” he continued: “He’s eating squash and broccoli and mashed cauliflower and mashed peas...none of which I would ever eat as a kid and I’m so thankful that he is.”
Anderson expressed his love for the Barefoot Contessa but admitted that he doesn't cook and had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner the night before. But no shame, he went on to say he absolutely loved it. Who doesn't love a PB&J? Ina agreed, saying that she and Jeffrey had quite a few of the classic sandwiches while socially isolating, though she had never had one before then.
"I have to say in the beginning of the pandemic, that's what Jeffrey and I had, too. And I don't think I'd ever had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I mean, my mother never made them. And we were just like, 'this is great,'" she shared.
So there you go! The next time you make a peanut butter and jelly to enjoy in front of the TV, just know you're in good company!
