Blame Ambien for sleep-eating, crazy dreams, or insomnia, but not for racist thoughts. In a since-deleted tweet, Roseanne Barr blamed the sleep medication for her "stupid joke" about former White House Advisor Valerie Jarrett, which led to the Roseanne reboot's cancellation and Barr herself getting fired from her talent agency. She said she was "ambien tweeting" and that "it was memorial day too." In less than a day, Sanofi - the pharmaceutical company that makes Ambien - shut down her claims.

"People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world," the Head of Media Relations in North America told MensHealth.com in a statement. "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication."

You could cut the tension shade with a knife. While Barr deleted most of her tweets referencing Ambien, there are still replies live on her account in which she walks back on her claim, saying it was "an explanation" and that she does blame herself.

Prior to the show's cancellation, Barr said she would be leaving Twitter.
